China, Azerbaijan comprehensive strategic partners, ambassador says

China and Azerbaijan are comprehensive strategic partners, cooperating in various fields, Chinese Ambassador to Azerbaijan Lu Mei has said.

Speaking at an event marking the 99th anniversary of the founding of the PLA, she noted that China is ready to further expand military cooperation with Azerbaijan and contribute to the development of bilateral ties, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

According to the diplomat, military cooperation is an important component of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Baku and Beijing.

"China and Azerbaijan are comprehensive strategic partners. Under the strategic guidance of the leaders of our two countries, China-Azerbaijan relations have maintained steady positive momentum, while cooperation in various fields continues to develop, bringing tangible results to the peoples of our countries," Lu Mei added.

In her view, China intends to work with Azerbaijan to implement key agreements reached by the leaders of the two countries, deepen cooperation across all areas, including the Belt and Road Initiative and the development of artificial intelligence technologies, and jointly contribute to strengthening peace and sustainable development both in the region and worldwide.
