Uzbekistan receives credentials of newly appointed Azerbaijani envoy

Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov has received the credentials of Azerbaijan’s newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbekistan, Rashad Mammadov.

Saidov announced the meeting on his social media accounts, saying the two sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports per local media.

The talks focused on maintaining the momentum of political dialogue, expanding trade, economic and investment ties, and advancing joint projects in transport and logistics.

"We are confident that the ambassador's extensive diplomatic experience will contribute to the further strengthening of the allied relations between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan and bring new practical results to our cooperation," Saidov wrote.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev appointed Rashad Mammadov as ambassador to Uzbekistan on July 24. Before taking up his new post, Mammadov served as Azerbaijan’s ambassador to Türkiye.
