Azerbaijan’s foreign minister receives credentials from new Egyptian ambassador PHOTO

On September 9, Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov received the newly appointed Ambassador of Egypt to Azerbaijan, Houssam-Eldine Reda.

The ambassador presented Bayramov with a copy of his credentials, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Foreign Ministry. 

The minister congratulated the ambassador on his appointment and wished him success in his work.

During the meeting, they discussed issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Egypt, as well as regional and international developments.

Both sides emphasised the importance of friendly relations between the leaders of the two countries, mutual high-level visits, the work of the intergovernmental commission, and the mechanism of political consultations in advancing Azerbaijani–Egyptian cooperation.

The discussion also covered cooperation within regional and international organisations, including the UN, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, and the Non-Aligned Movement. The partnership between Baku and Cairo during the 29th session of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP29) was also highlighted.

Bayramov briefed the ambassador on the current situation in the region in the post-conflict period and on large-scale reconstruction and development works in the territories recently liberated from occupation. They also discussed security issues in the Middle East.

In conclusion, the ambassador assured that he would make every effort to develop bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Egypt.
