Could Israeli tech companies be expanding to Azerbaijan? Photo

08 April 2025 13:04

Azerbaijan and Israel have agreed to bolster cooperation in the fields of science and technology, with a memorandum of understanding signed to that effect.

Rashad Nabiyev, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Digital Development and Transport, announced on X, confirming that the agreement was formalised during his recent visit to Israel, Caliber.Az reports.

During the trip, Nabiyev met with Israel's Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, Gila Gamliel.

The two sides discussed opportunities for collaboration in key areas such as innovation, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and space exploration, alongside improving the legislative framework in these sectors.

"We have invited Israeli tech companies to open offices in Azerbaijan, establish high-tech manufacturing enterprises, set up IT training centres, and create an Advanced Technologies Centre," Nabiyev noted in his statement.
