Crime rate up by 33% in Armenia during seven months

The Armenian State Statistical Committee has said that 20,963 crimes were registered in Armenia during the first seven months of 2022, which is 5,237 or 33 per cent more than in the same period of last year.
In particular, crimes against people increased by 1,562 or 70 per cent, Caliber.Az reports with reference to the Armenian media.
The number of murders increased by about five times from 33 to 163.
Crimes related to public safety, public order and public health increased by 2,669 or 81 per cent. Property crimes increased by 444 or 5.5 per cent.
Moreover, crimes against state power, service and management increased by 234 or about 16 per cent.
The corruption out of the total number of crimes decreased by 71 or 13 per cent.
