Curfew for minors introduced in Bashkortostan from May 1

30 April 2026 12:46

Authorities in Bashkortostan have announced the introduction of a seasonal curfew for minors, which will take effect from May 1 through September 30, including in the regional capital, Ufa.

Under the measure, children and teenagers under the age of 17 will be prohibited from being outside without the supervision of parents or legal guardians between 23:00 and 06:00 local time. The policy was confirmed by the city administration’s press service.

Officials clarified that the restriction applies to a broad range of public spaces. “Public places include streets, stadiums, squares, playgrounds and sports grounds, beaches, parks, courtyards and common areas in apartment buildings, public transport, the premises and territories of railway stations, river ports, airports, and internet cafés,” the Ufa mayor’s office said.

If a minor is detained by police during curfew hours, their parents or legal representatives will face administrative liability. A formal report will be prepared and forwarded to the Commission on Juvenile Affairs for further consideration.

The seasonal curfew follows the same schedule implemented in 2025, when restrictions between May 1 and September 30 were also set from 23:00 to 06:00. During the colder months, from October 1 to April 30, the curfew hours were extended, beginning earlier at 22:00 and lasting until 06:00.
