Cyprus talks focus on Gaza reconstruction, governance and security
A reconstruction plan for Gaza was presented during meetings held in Cyprus, where the Palestinian Committee of Technocrats (NCAG), which is expected to govern the Gaza Strip, reviewed proposals on rebuilding, security, and donor requirements.
The discussions took place with representatives of the Peace Council, according to a statement published on the organisation’s page on X.
"Over the past two days, the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG) held a series of working meetings in Cyprus with experts and advisers of the Board of Peace, the Office of the High Representative for Gaza, and the Tony Blair Institute.
The meetings were highly productive and focused on the next stage of our efforts to relieve the suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza.
We concentrated on what can be done immediately, including initiatives and projects to ease conditions on the ground. We reviewed plans for reconstruction, security, and governance, and we finalised the institutional arrangements that will ensure the transparency and accountability required by international donors.
We are committed to the Comprehensive Plan and are prepared to take all the necessary steps, in coordination with the Board of Peace and the Office of the High Representative, in order for NCAG to assume its responsibilities once the right conditions are met.
These meetings built on the workshop held in Cairo last week 23-24 June 2026, and together are part of a broader process to ensure we have every tool necessary to serve the Palestinian people of Gaza.
Further steps will be set out and announced in due course," the statement reads.
