Dagestan official among victims of shelling near border area
Three people were killed in a border area during shelling by the Ukrainian Armed Forces of a humanitarian convoy from Dagestan.
Among the dead was Magomednabi Gadzhiyev, deputy head of Dagestan’s Shamilsky District.
As reported by Caliber.Az, the head of the region, Sergei Melikov, announced the tragic incident on his Telegram channel.
“Unfortunately, there are fatalities — the deputy head of the Shamilsky District, from where the cargo was dispatched, Magomednabi Gadzhiyev, and two representatives of the public organisation ‘Self-Defence,’ Ali and Murad,” he wrote.
According to the head of the republic, another escort from the same public organisation — a man named Shamil — was taken to a medical facility with injuries, and doctors are fighting for his life.
