Death toll from Russian attack on Kyiv rises to three
The number of people killed in a large-scale Russian missile and drone strike on Kyiv has risen to three, Ukrainian officials have confirmed.
A 32-year-old woman, Viktoriia Hrebeniuk, and her two-month-old son, Roman, were among the victims of the September 7 attack, Caliber.Az reports, citing Ukrainian media.
On the morning of September 8, rescue workers recovered the body of a man from the rubble of a nine-storey residential building in the Sviatoshyn district of the capital.
To recall, the Russian attacks involved a record 810 unmanned aerial vehicles, predominantly Shahed strike drones, accompanied by missile strikes, according to the Ukrainian Air Forces.
In total, 823 aerial attack targets were detected by the Air Force’s radio-technical troops. The drones were launched from locations in Russia—including Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, Orel, Shatalovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk—and from Gvardeyskoye and Chauda in Crimea.
In addition, nine Iskander-K cruise missiles were fired from the Kursk region, while four ballistic missiles (Iskander-M/KN-23) were launched from Crimea.
Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko announced that the attacks on Kyiv left more than 20 people injured and two died—a woman and her two-month-old child.
