Death toll rises to four as Russian drone strike on minibus in Ukraine's Nikopol
The death toll from a Russian drone strike on a minibus in Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk region, has risen to four, while 17 others sustained injuries, authorities confirmed.
In response, the city has declared April 8 a day of mourning, ASTRA reports.
Earlier reports indicated that 16 people had been affected by the attack, with three fatalities initially recorded.
According to authorities, the attack was carried out by a first-person-view (FPV) drone that struck a route bus in the city center as it was approaching a bus stop. Passengers were inside the vehicle at the time, and civilians were also present at the stop.
Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said emergency responders and medical teams arrived promptly at the scene and managed to rescue seven people trapped in the aftermath.
Ukrainian officials described the strike as a deliberate attack on civilians. An investigation is underway, with authorities documenting all details of the incident.
