Denmark receives Swedish support to counter drones ahead of EU summit
Denmark will deploy Swedish-supplied anti-drone systems to bolster security during next week’s EU summit in Copenhagen, following a series of unexplained drone sightings near Danish airports.
According to Danish broadcaster TV2, the Danish Ministry of Defence confirmed it has accepted Sweden’s offer to lend military-grade counter-UAV equipment for the high-profile event scheduled for October 1–2, Caliber.Az reports.
“Sweden has offered to lend Denmark a military anti-drone capability. Denmark has naturally accepted,” the ministry said in a post on X.
The move comes after Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson announced on September 26 that he had spoken with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and offered assistance amid rising concerns over aerial security.
