Deputy FM: Azerbaijan’s growing donor policy benefits over 140 countries
Azerbaijan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev has said that Azerbaijan is known as a donor country.
Rafiyev made these remarks at the Forum on the Internationalisation of Science and Higher Education, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
"Universities are entrusted with great expectations in shaping the human capital for the country's future," he said.
The deputy minister emphasised that the training of local professionals in every sector is a crucial issue.
"International educational grants are a key tool for enabling students to study abroad worldwide. Through this mechanism, talented students are identified and guided in the right direction," he noted.
He stressed that thanks to the country's growing donor policy in recent years, Azerbaijan has gained recognition as a new donor country.
"Our country has provided humanitarian and other forms of assistance to more than 140 foreign nations, including most members of the Non-Aligned Movement, nearly all African countries, and the overwhelming majority of countries in the Caribbean," he added.
