Dozens of Russian servicemen killed in southern Ukraine

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' rocket and artillery units, as well as aircraft, launched over 100 strikes on enemy [Russian] positions in southern Ukraine on May 15. 

They eliminated about 75 Russian soldiers and officers, RBC-Ukraine reports, citing the South operational command of Ukraine’s Armed Forces.

Russian troops are said to continue strengthening their positions on occupied territories in Kherson and Nikolaev regions. 

"In the meantime, our rocket and artillery units, in cooperation with aviation, carried out over 100 strikes on enemy positions during the day," the command said in a statement.

In Chernobaevka, the Ukrainian military destroyed an enemy warehouse. The Ukrainian Armed Forces eliminated 75 soldiers and nearly 20 pieces of equipment, including four drag and two Msta-S self-propelled howitzers, four mortar systems, two armoured and four vehicles, two maintenance workshops, and one unmanned aerial vehicle, it added.

"Russia concentrated eight ships in the Black Sea, including two cruise missile carriers and six large landing craft. Simultaneously, the enemy continues to set up positions on Zmiinyi (Snake) Island.

The threat of missile strikes and the possibility of amphibious landings remain relevant, do not disregard security measures, follow the established restrictions on visiting the mined coast and coastal waters, and remain vigilant and conscious," the statement noted.
