Drone attack damages utilities in Russia's Nizhny Novgorod region
03 April 2026 12:58
Air defence and electronic warfare forces in Russia’s Nizhny Novgorod region have successfully repelled a drone attack, though debris from the intercepted UAVs caused damage to buildings and utility networks, Governor Gleb Nikitin said.
In a post on Telegram, the governor noted that the preliminary reports indicated no casualties or injuries. He added that falling debris in the Prioksky and Kstovsky districts of Nizhny Novgorod, as well as in the nearby town of Bora, had damaged utility infrastructure and the windows of several residential buildings, Caliber.Az reports.
Emergency services are reportedly working at the affected sites, while officials warned that the drone threat remains ongoing.
