Drone strike sparks blaze at chemical facility in Russia's Perm Krai PHOTO / VIDEO
A fire broke out at the Metafrax industrial facility in Perm Krai following a drone strike, according to analysis by ASTRA.
The conclusion is based on publicly available footage circulating online, which shows smoke rising from the территории of the plant after the reported attack.

Earlier on May 23, Perm Krai Governor Dmitry Makhonin confirmed that the enterprise had been targeted by drones. He stated that all unmanned aerial vehicles were intercepted and that no casualties were reported, but did not provide information regarding potential damage to the facility.
The affected site is the chemical complex operated by Metafrax, located in the city of Gubakha. The plant specialises in the production of ammonia, urea, and melamine.
This is not the first such incident involving the enterprise. On February 17, 2026, the same facility was also targeted by drones, with a fire reported at that time.
