Drone attack triggers fire at Wildberries logistics hub in Russia's Yekaterinburg PHOTO/VIDEO

A Wildberries logistics complex in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg was hit in a drone attack, causing a fire and prompting the evacuation of hundreds of people, according to OSINT analysts at ASTRA.

Earlier in the day, Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) imposed temporary restrictions on arrivals and departures at Koltsovo Airport in Yekaterinburg, while Sverdlovsk Region Governor Denis Pasler declared a drone hazard alert.

Wildberries confirmed that its logistics facility in Yekaterinburg had been struck.

“Firefighters are on the scene at the company’s logistics facility in Yekaterinburg, Sverdlovsk Region; a fire broke out as a result of the attack. A preemptive evacuation was carried out at the facility. The receipt of current shipments is temporarily restricted; they have been redirected to other facilities,” the company said in a statement.

Subsequent reports indicated that the fire at the warehouse was intensifying.

Artem Zhoga, the Russian presidential envoy to the Urals Federal District, confirmed that the warehouse had been targeted in a drone attack.

“800 people were evacuated from the logistics facility; no one was injured,” Zhoga said.
