Drone attack triggers fire in Russia’s Volgograd region
A fuel storage tank caught fire following a drone attack in the Volgograd region of southern Russia.
According to TASS, the information was confirmed by regional governor Andrey Bocharov.
Earlier reports said that 57 drones were intercepted over the Volgograd region.
The Telegram channel SHOT reported that a building in southern Volgograd also caught fire after debris from downed drones fell on it. More than 20 explosions were reportedly heard in the sky over the city during the incident.
In addition, damage to five residential houses was recorded in the Surovikinsky district of the Volgograd region. Drone fragments were also found on Fadeeva and Stoletova streets in Volgograd’s Krasnoarmeysky district.
Authorities said no casualties have been reported so far.
