Drone debris damages apartment building in Russia's Kursk video
Debris from a drone damaged a residential apartment building in the Russian city of Kursk, prompting the evacuation of dozens of residents, according to Kursk Region Governor Alexander Hinshtein.
“According to preliminary information, an enemy drone fell in the courtyard of an apartment building in the central district of the city. The debris damaged the roof of the building,” Hinshtein said.
He noted that the drone did not detonate. “Fortunately, the drone did not detonate. Emergency services promptly arrived at the scene, and the area was cordoned off,” he added.
Authorities evacuated 36 residents from the building, including nine children. Of those, seven people — including two children — were placed in temporary accommodation centres, while the remaining residents stayed with relatives.
“Emergency services are working at the scene. There were no casualties,” Khinshtein said.
“I am keeping the situation under control. We expect that people will return home in the near future,” he added.
