Drone hits apartment building near Moscow amid large-scale UAV attack VIDEO

A drone struck a residential apartment building in the town of Solnechnogorsk, near Moscow, injuring two people, as Russian authorities said air defence systems intercepted dozens of unmanned aerial vehicles overnight.

Videos circulating online, purportedly captured by CCTV cameras, appeared to show the moment a drone hit the apartment block on Bankovskaya Street, damaging part of the building, Caliber.Az reports via ASTRA.

Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobyov said two people were injured in the strike on the residential building.

According to Vorobyov, Russian air defence and electronic warfare units intercepted or neutralised a total of 81 drones across the Moscow region overnight. He said the UAVs were downed over multiple districts, including Odintsovo, Naro-Fominsk, Ramenskoye, Solnechnogorsk, Podolsk, Domodedovo and Kolomna.

The governor also reported casualties elsewhere in the region. In the settlement of Pionersky, in the Istra district, three people were killed and three others injured after a drone crashed, sparking a fire that damaged five private homes. Additional damage to residential properties was reported in the village of Babkino and in the town of Mozhaisk, where windows and part of the facade of an apartment building were damaged. No injuries were reported in those incidents.

Separately, Vladimir Region Governor Alexander Avdeev said 39 residents, including eight children, were evacuated from an apartment building in the city of Vladimir after a drone crashed nearby.

According to the governor, the incident damaged the glazing of one apartment. Some evacuees were accommodated at a temporary shelter, while others stayed with relatives and friends.
