Drone manufacturer Switchblade is in direct negotiations with Ukraine on supplies
The manufacturer of the Switchblade drone, which the US is sending to Ukraine, is in direct talks with Kyiv about the possibility of additional sales.
It is reported by Bloomberg.
However, it is noted that the manufacturer wants the Pentagon to help overcome supply chain problems.
Vahid Nawabi, CEO of AeroVironment, spoke about two types of drones that are supplied to Ukraine.
"That would be a very, very effective tool," he said.
He added that the company is "actively increasing sales to the US military" as well as to Ukraine.
The company also wants the Pentagon to give it a designation known as "DO". In particular, this is for future Switchblade and other systems that will give it more priority in the supply chain for critical components such as microprocessors.
“The supply chain is the bottleneck. We need details and the DO rating will help us a lot in providing thousands more Switchblades,” Nawabi said.
