Drone strike hits one of Russia’s oldest refineries, operations disrupted PHOTO / VIDEO
The Saratov oil refinery in Russia was attacked during the night, according to analysis by ASTRA OSINT researchers who studied eyewitness video footage.
Governor of the Saratov region, Roman Busargin, reported that the strike caused damage to civilian infrastructure and resulted in one casualty. Prior to the incident, he had warned of potential threats from drones in the area.
The attack also forced the temporary suspension of operations at Saratov airport. Following the strike, authorities announced the implementation of the security plan “Carpet.”
This latest assault on the refinery follows a previous attack on November 3. Based on ASTRA’s calculations, today’s incident marks at least the seventh attack on the Saratov oil refinery since the beginning of 2025.
The Saratov Refinery, one of Russia’s oldest oil refineries, had a refining capacity of 4.8 million tons of oil as of 2023.
