Drone strike hits Slavneft-YANOS refinery in Yaroslavl, child killed photo
On the night of March 28, the city of Yaroslavl was struck by a large-scale attack that resulted in the death of a child and injuries to three others, regional authorities confirmed.
Eyewitness photos and videos captured a fire that erupted after the strike. Analysis of the footage by the OSINT group ASTRA indicates that the fire affected the Slavneft-YANOS oil refinery. Ukrainian drones have reportedly targeted this facility multiple times in the past.
According to publicly available information, Slavneft-YANOS is a fuel and oil processing refinery that ranks among the five largest refineries in Russia by hydrocarbon processing capacity and is the largest refining enterprise in the Central Federal District.
The refinery is a key asset of the vertically integrated company Slavneft NGK, with 99.7% of its shares jointly controlled on a parity basis by Rosneft and Gazprom.
