13 May 2026 09:15
Schools and technical colleges in Russia’s Chuvashia region have been switched to remote learning due to a declared unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) threat, education minister Dmitry Zakharov announced.
He said that students in both the first and second shifts will study online. The education ministry also recommended that universities in the region move to remote instruction. In addition, parents of kindergarten children were advised to keep them at home.
A UAV alert was declared in Chuvashia at around 3:00 a.m. on May 13. Cheboksary mayor Stanislav Trofimov urged residents to avoid going outside if possible and to limit movement across the city until the alert is lifted.
