EAEU summit greenlights 17 documents including trade, customs agreements
Russian President Vladimir Putin and the leaders of other Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states approved 17 documents following the summit.
Among the key decisions was an agreement on a unified customs transit system, the entry into force of the free trade agreement with Iran, and a directive on the operation of the EAEU single services market, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
Several other documents were also approved. The EAEU includes Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.
Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) has firmly established itself as one of the independent and self-sufficient centres of the emerging multipolar world.
"Our union has solidified its position as one of the self-sufficient centres of the emerging multipolar world and continues developing dynamically," he said during the session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.
While opening the meeting, the president suggested the participants to discuss current issues and outline future plans. The session will focus on a series of new important decisions prepared for approval by the Council, aimed at further deepening cooperation across various sectors.
