EBRD invests €9.1 billion in Ukraine since start of war
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has invested €9.1 billion directly into Ukraine’s economy since the start of the Russia-Ukraine conflict in February 2022, said Lin O'Grady, Deputy Head of the EBRD's Sustainable Infrastructure Group.
Speaking during the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, O’Grady said the bank had also mobilised an additional €3.4 billion in donor financing to support Ukraine, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
She noted that 2025 marked a record year for EBRD investment activity in the country, with €2.9 billion allocated to Ukraine alone.
“Supporting energy resilience and municipal services remains one of the EBRD’s priorities,” O’Grady said.
The EBRD has been one of the key international financial institutions involved in supporting Ukraine’s economy and infrastructure since the outbreak of the conflict, with a particular focus on energy security, reconstruction, and essential public services.
