The minister also emphasized the significance of developing a skilled workforce, stating, "Establishing and refining a talent pool that meets modern requirements, alongside creating an innovation-driven ecosystem, are among the top priorities for achieving sustainable development of Azerbaijan’s economy."
International Education Day, observed every year on January 24, was declared by the United Nations General Assembly in 2018 to highlight the role of education in advancing peace and development. The day underscores education as both a fundamental human right and a public good, essential for sustainable development and fostering global peace.
Each year, the United Nations and UNESCO select a theme to address current educational challenges. In 2024, the focus was "Learning for Lasting Peace," emphasizing education's role in fostering peaceful societies. The 2025 theme will be "Artificial Intelligence and Education: Preserving Human Agency in a World of Automation," reflecting technology's growing influence on education.
International Education Day serves as a platform to advocate for inclusive, equitable, and high-quality education, ensuring no one is left behind in the pursuit of global development goals.
