Azerbaijan transits Russian grain to Armenia UPDATED / PHOTO
A freight train carrying Russian grain departed today from Bilajari railway station, in the suburbs of Baku, bound for Armenia via transit through Azerbaijani territory.
The train consists of seven wagons transporting a total of 488 tonnes of grain. After passing through Boyuk-Kasik station, it will cross into Georgia and continue toward its destination in Armenia, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

This follows a similar shipment on February 4, when eight wagons carrying 560 tonnes of Russian grain transited through Azerbaijan to reach Armenia.
Since the beginning of such operations, more than 21,000 tonnes of Russian grain (302 wagons) and 610 tonnes of fertilisers (9 wagons) have been transported to Armenia via Azerbaijan.
These shipments highlight Azerbaijan’s ongoing role as a regional transit hub for agricultural products, strengthening trade links between neighbouring countries.
