Azerbaijan-Türkiye trade drops 3.1% to $2.81 billion
Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Türkiye totalled $2.811 billion in January-June 2026, down 3.1%, or $90.862 million, from the same period a year earlier, according to Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee.
The figures, reported by Caliber.Az, showed that Türkiye accounted for 11.4% of Azerbaijan’s total foreign trade turnover, ranking it as the country’s third-largest trading partner in the first half of 2026. In January-June 2025, Türkiye accounted for 11.89% of Azerbaijan’s trade and ranked second.
Azerbaijan’s exports to Türkiye amounted to $1.678 billion in the first six months of 2026, representing a 2.2% decline year on year. Türkiye’s share of Azerbaijan’s total exports fell to 10.28%, compared with 13.32% in the same period of 2025.
Imports from Türkiye also declined, falling 4.5% to $1.133 billion. Despite the overall decrease in imports, Türkiye’s share of Azerbaijan’s total imports rose to 13.58%, from 10.3% a year earlier.
