Deputy PM: Moldova seeks green energy cooperation with Azerbaijan
Moldova aims to collaborate with Azerbaijan not only on gas supplies but also in the field of green energy, Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mihai Popșoi said at a joint press conference with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.
Popșoi emphasised that Moldova continues to be receptive to acquiring Azerbaijani gas, along with pursuing other long-term investment opportunities, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
“Together with the company Energocom, Moldova is negotiating with the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan and intends to participate in the Green Energy Corridor project. Azerbaijani companies are also invited to invest in Moldova. Our country remains open to purchasing Azerbaijani gas and other long-term investments,” the deputy PM stated.
He added that Moldova is particularly interested in the Green Energy Corridor project (Black Sea Energy) and stressed that the energy sector could become a key area for strengthening ties between the two countries.
“Ensuring energy security and increasing gas supplies remain priority areas for Moldova. We are grateful to the Azerbaijani government for the support provided during the 2022 energy crisis,” Popșoi concluded.
