Egyptian president, Turkish FM discuss path to peace amid heightened Middle East tensions
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has voiced grave concerns about the escalating crisis in the Middle East, calling it an "extremely dangerous" turning point in the region's history.
His comments were made during a discussion with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
"The Middle East region is now going through an extremely dangerous, turning point, which requires us to show a high level of composure and listen to the voice of reason," President al-Sisi stated.
He underscored the urgency for regional nations to remain calm and judicious during this volatile period.
Al-Sisi highlighted a key measure for de-escalation, advocating for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
"One of the ways to de-escalate the situation in the region is to immediately establish a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip," he said.
The Egyptian leader believes that such a move would pave the way for diplomatic and political solutions to the ongoing conflict.
