Envoy: Russia to step up diplomatic contacts over Iran-Israel tensions
Russia will continue its diplomatic contacts with all parties involved in the escalating Iran-Israel conflict, including the United States, Russian Presidential Envoy for the Middle East and African countries Mikhail Bogdanov said.
Bogdanov stated that the number of such diplomatic engagements is expected to increase in the coming days, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
“I won’t speculate now about what will happen because the situation is truly very dangerous, as strikes are being carried out against Iran’s nuclear and energy facilities. There could be radiation leakage, which, of course, knows no state borders. This is very dangerous for neighboring countries, especially the Gulf states. It poses a threat to all of us. In this regard, we will continue these contacts, including with the leadership of the United States of America,” he said.
The envoy also recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin has recently held over 100 meetings and talks with leaders of Arab countries.
“I believe that in the coming days the number of such contacts will increase further because our task, of course, is to convince everyone that the bloodshed must stop and that they must sit down at the negotiating table,” the diplomat emphasised.
