Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reaffirmed Türkiye's commitment to Syria's territorial integrity during a phone conversation with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, focusing on the latest developments in the country.
The sides discussed the situation in Syria, with Erdogan reiterating his country's longstanding position on the issue, Caliber.Az reports citing Turkish media.
He emphasized that Türkiye has supported the preservation of Syria's territorial integrity and stability since the start of the civil war and that Syria should be governed by its own people.
Erdogan also assured Rutte that Türkiye will continue to take all necessary actions to contribute to the creation of a unified, terrorism-free Syria.
