Erdogan’s visit to Pakistan: Day of diplomacy, tradition, and unity VIDEO
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Islamabad on February 13, 2025, for an official meeting with Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
The Turkish president departed from his hotel that morning and made his way to the administration building of Pakistan’s Prime Minister, where he was personally welcomed by Sharif, Caliber.Az reports referring to Turkish media.
The route to the administration building was adorned with flags of both Türkiye and Pakistan, symbolizing the significance of the occasion.
Upon arrival, Erdogan and Sharif exchanged pleasantries before proceeding to the ceremonial area. The official ceremony included an orchestra playing the national anthems of both countries, followed by Erdogan saluting the honour guard.
As part of the welcoming ceremony, the two leaders planted a sapling together and observed an impressive air show by the Pakistan Air Force.
Following the formalities, the two leaders introduced their respective delegations and then proceeded with one-on-one discussions, followed by talks with their full delegations.
Erdogan's visit will also include participation in the seventh meeting of the high-level Strategic Cooperation Council. A joint press conference with Prime Minister Sharif is scheduled afterwards, where the leaders are expected to address important matters regarding bilateral relations and cooperation.
The ceremony was also attended by members of the Turkish delegation - Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of National Defence Yaşar Güler, Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Ibrahim Yumaklı, Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat, Head of the Council of Aksakals (Elders) of the Organization of Turkic States Binali Yıldırım, Head of the Liaison Office of the Presidential Administration Fahrettin Altun.
