Erdogan slams international system, Western nations for Gaza crisis handling
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that the crisis in the Gaza Strip has shown the failure of the global system.
He made the remarks in Ankara, at the headquarters of the Justice and Development Party, which is the ruling party, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media.
According to him, Western countries that support Israel have become complicit in the genocide against the Palestinian population.
"Western countries are complicit in Israel's genocidal policies. World politics is going through one of the most difficult periods in history. A serious vacuum has been created in the international system and we are facing a loss of morality and conscience. Western countries have become complicit in Israel's genocidal policy [in Gaza]," the president said.
Erdogan reiterated that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should be held accountable for the crimes committed in Gaza.
"The place where the perpetrators of genocide should be held is not the rostrums of parliament, but the courtrooms where they will answer for the crimes committed," the Turkish leader said.
