Erdoğan, Trump discuss Gaza in phone call
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his US counterpart Donald Trump held a phone call, discussing bilateral relations and the ongoing situation in Gaza, at the request of the US leader.
According to a statement from the Directorate of Communications, during the call, Erdoğan highlighted that Türkiye’s recent visit to Washington had further strengthened ties between the two countries, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media.
He stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation in all areas, with particular emphasis on the defence industry.
Regarding the situation in Gaza, Erdoğan said Türkiye is making intense efforts to ensure peace and stability in the region and welcomed initiatives aimed at achieving this goal. He further emphasised that Türkiye has accelerated diplomatic efforts to promote peace and will continue to contribute to the global peace agenda.
Erdoğan added that ending Israel’s attacks is crucial for the success of any initiatives seeking to establish lasting peace in the region.
