Kremlin describes Putin-Aliyev call as "warm and substantive"
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented on the recent phone call between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev during a press briefing.
“Putin held a telephone conversation with Azerbaijani President Aliyev. It was a very warm and substantive telephone conversation,” the spokesperson emphasised.
Peskov's remarks followed a telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on July 28, 2026.
The leaders discussed current bilateral and international issues, highlighted the constructive nature of Russia-Azerbaijan relations and intensified intergovernmental dialogue, and reaffirmed their mutual commitment to further expanding mutually beneficial cooperation.
