Estonia transports anti-tank barriers to Russian border
Estonian authorities have brought anti-tank barriers to the border with Russia in case restrictions are introduced. So far, the "dragon's teeth" stand along the fence and do not block the passage.
Postimees published photos from the place where the barriers were brought. Usually, such structures are used to prevent the movement of military equipment.
"We have prepared these concrete blocks in case the Estonian government decides to restrict entry to the country from the Russian Federation, following the example of our Finnish neighbours, to curb the influx of illegal migrants," Marek Liiva, the head of the Narva border post, explained to Postimees.
He also said that on February 1, the Ivangorod border checkpoint is scheduled to be closed for repairs. These barriers will "limit the movement of motor vehicles on the bridge" during the closure period.
