EU’s Kallas labels Russia, China, DPRK summit “direct challenge” to world order
The head of the European Union’s diplomatic service, Kaja Kallas, has described recent meetings between the leaders of Russia, China, Iran and North Korea as a “direct challenge” to the rules-based international order.
She made the remarks during a press conference in Brussels, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
“President Xi stands alongside the leaders of Russia, Iran and North Korea in Beijing — this is not merely an anti-Western stance. It is a direct challenge to the international order based on rules,” Kallas said.
The Estonian prime minister characterised the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit, along with bilateral and multilateral meetings in Beijing, as part of the efforts of “authoritarian leaders to create a new world order.”
She added that Europe “must confront this new reality.”
