EU spy mission chief meets Armenia’s Western protégé
On January 30, Armenian Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan received the head of the EU intelligence and surveillance mission in Armenia, Markus Ritter.
The office of the Armenian Security Council said that during the meeting the interlocutors discussed the activities of the EU Intelligence Observation Mission and touched upon the European Council's decision to increase the number of the mission's personnel, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
The interlocutors emphasized that the deployment of the EU mission "plays an important role in terms of ensuring stability and security in the region".
Earlier several Armenian experts stated that the observers in Armenia, who are representatives of NATO countries, particularly Germany and France, are intelligence agents and their main mission is to collect information about the Russian military presence in Armenia and to keep an eye on Iran.
Today Armenian media report that the West sees Grigoryan as Pashinyan's successor.
