EU to set up coordination centre in Kyiv For Ukrainian military training
The European Union has announced the establishment of a "small coordination centre" in Kyiv to enhance the efficiency of its military training efforts for Ukrainian forces.
The decision was disclosed by EU Foreign Policy Chief Josep Borrell during a press conference following an informal meeting of EU defence ministers in Brussels, Caliber.Az reports citing Russian media.
Borrell underscored that the new centre, intended to enhance the coordination of the EU's training efforts, will not represent a new mission but will function as a central hub for managing and supervising training operations. The initiative aims to improve the effectiveness of the EU's support for Ukrainian military personnel.
Currently, the EU mission has successfully trained 60,000 Ukrainian soldiers. The defence ministers have now agreed to increase the training target to 75,000, with an additional 15,000 troops expected to be trained by the end of the year.
