Exiled crown prince discusses post-Khamenei Iran with US congressmen
Media reports have started circulating that Reza Pahlavi, the eldest son of Iran's last Shah that lives in exile in the US, is already meeting with American congressmen to discuss plans for possible reconstruction plans for a post-regime change era in the immediate aftermath of the US strikes on Iran.
This statement was first voiced by Fox News during their television broadcast program on June 22, Caliber.Az reports.
According to Fox TV host Jesse Watters, the Iranian opposition figure and son of Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi is "planning for a post-Ayatollah [Khamenei] Iran" with US officials.
He then took a sarcastic stab to this development by pointing out that there is a post-conflict planning happening in this situation which already sets it apart from past US foreign policy interventions.
Pahlavi is the founder and leader of the National Council of Iran, an exiled Iranian opposition group. With no official position in Iran, Mr Pahlavi has established a symbolic presence among segments of the Iranian diaspora in the US and those working for political reform.
