Casualties mount after explosion at military plant in Russia VIDEO/UPDATED
The number of casualties from the explosion at the Plastmass military factory in Kopeysk, Russia's Chelyabinsk region, has risen to 19, regional governor Alexei Tekslerwrote on his Telegram channel.
Among them, five people are in serious condition—two are being treated in the burn unit of City Clinical Hospital No. 6 in Chelyabinsk, and two others are hospitalised in the regional hospital. Another victim is expected to be transferred to the regional hospital once their condition stabilises, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
The investigation into the explosion continues. Governor Teksler reiterated that there is no threat to residents of Kopeysk or Chelyabinsk and confirmed there is no evidence the incident was caused by a drone attack. A municipal state of emergency remains in place in the Kopeysk urban district.

At least ten people have died following an explosion at the Plastmass military factory in Kopeysk, Chelyabinsk region, Russian authorities have confirmed.
The regional governor, Alexey Teksler, said that there is no threat to residents of Kopeysk or Chelyabinsk in the wake of the incident, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
“A municipal state of emergency has been declared in the Kopeysk urban district. An investigation is underway to establish all the circumstances surrounding the tragedy,” he said.
Governor Teksler added that there is no indication the explosion was caused by a drone attack.
