Explosions rock Russia’s Orenburg amid drone strikes VIDEO

Explosions were heard in the Russian city of Orenburg on May 12, with thick smoke seen rising over parts of the city, according to local residents and footage circulated online.

Russian outlet ASTRA reported the incident, citing eyewitness accounts and videos shared on social media.

Earlier in the day, local authorities warned of an elevated threat from unmanned aerial vehicles and introduced the “Carpet” security protocol at Orenburg Airport. The protocol is typically implemented in response to potential aerial threats and may involve temporary flight restrictions and heightened security measures.
