The ongoing return of internally displaced persons (IDPs) to the revitalized town of Lachin, in line with the directives of President Ilham Aliyev, marks a significant step forward in Azerbaijan's post-conflict reconstruction efforts.
On March 30, as reported by Caliber.Az, another cohort of former Lachin residents, who had been temporarily accommodated in various facilities across the country, embarked on their journey back home. At this stage, 68 people comprising 21 families are returning to Lachin town and 11 people comprising four families are returning to Zabukh village of Lachin district.
It should be noted that the number of returnees in Lachin has risen to 1,773 (472 families), while 215 families (819 people) have secured permanent residence in Zabukh village.
The returnees, having endured displacement for years, are now witnessing the fruition of extensive reconstruction efforts aimed at rebuilding Lachin into a thriving community once again. Their resettlement signifies not only a homecoming but also a symbol of resilience and hope for a brighter future amidst the challenges of post-conflict recovery.
As Azerbaijan continues its comprehensive efforts to revitalize and develop liberated territories, the return of families to Lachin stands as a testament to the nation's commitment to restoring normalcy and prosperity to all its citizens, ensuring that they can once again flourish in their homeland.
