Azerbaijan’s Aghdam to host modern bicycle plant Producing 70,000 Units Annually
A new bicycle manufacturing plant is set to open in Aghdam, Azerbaijan, as part of the government’s broader efforts to revitalise the region’s economy.
The Qarabike company has officially been granted resident status in the Aghdam Industrial Park, which operates under the supervision of the Economic Zones Development Agency, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
The project, with an investment value of 8.6 million manats, will utilise advanced Chinese technology.
In its initial phase, the plant is expected to produce over 44,000 bicycles annually. A second phase will see production capacity rise to 70,000 units per year.
The Aghdam Industrial Park currently hosts 28 resident enterprises and four non-resident businesses.
To date, entrepreneurs have invested over 115 million manats into the park, creating permanent employment for more than 650 people.
