FESCO, China's Huayuan agree to expand Russia-China rail container transport
Russian transport and logistics group FESCO and China's Huayuan International Land Port (Datong) Group have signed a cooperation agreement to expand railway container transport between Russia and China, FESCO said on June 30.
According to Russian media, the agreement aims to develop new logistics solutions through land border crossings, strengthen cooperation in railway logistics and organise container shipments in both import and export directions, the company said.
FESCO said the partnership would support the expansion of rail container services through China's Shanxi Province, which it described as one of northern China's key logistics regions.
FESCO is one of Russia's largest transport and logistics companies, with operations spanning ports, rail freight and integrated logistics.
The group, which is managed by Russia's state nuclear corporation Rosatom, operates a fleet of more than 30 vessels, primarily serving its own shipping routes.
