Fire breaks out at Ryazan Oil Refinery following Ukrainian airstrikes
A fire has erupted on the premises of an oil refinery in the Ryazan region of Russia, as confirmed by operational services.
According to the Telegram channel Baza, the fire has affected an area of approximately 100 square meters and efforts to extinguish it are currently underway, Caliber.Az reports, citing TASS.
Operational services have suggested that the suspected cause of the fire may be linked to the fall of a drone. However, there is no information available regarding casualties at this time.
This incident follows a series of aerial attacks across Russian regions during the night and morning of March 12. Ukrainian drones and missiles targeted various areas including Moscow, Leningrad, Belgorod, Kursk, Bryansk, Tula, and Voronezh.
Reports indicate that in the Orel region, a drone strike triggered a fire at an oil depot, while another fire broke out at an oil refinery near Nizhny Novgorod. Additionally, military correspondents have documented an attempted incursion by saboteurs from Ukraine into the Belgorod and Kursk regions amidst the aerial onslaught.
The situation remains dynamic as authorities work to contain the fires and assess the full extent of the damage caused by these incidents.
