Fire engulfs oil depot in Russia’s Bashkortostan region, one injured PHOTO

A fire broke out overnight at the IntexChem Ltd oil depot in the village of Kandry in Russia’s Republic of Bashkortostan.

The blaze reportedly began in a tractor-trailer before spreading to several fuel oil storage tanks, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media. 

Avia.pro reported that up to eight tanks were engulfed in the fire, though firefighters were able to bring the situation under control relatively quickly.

One person was injured in the incident but refused hospital treatment, according to initial information.

The fire comes shortly after another incident at the Nurlino oil pumping station in the same region, raising concerns over a series of recent industrial fires in the area.
