Fire erupts at oil depot in Russia’s Belgorod region following UAV strike
The authorities in Russia’s Belgorod region have confirmed that an oil depot in the Stary Oskol urban district was struck by a drone, resulting in a fire at the facility.
No casualties have been reported so far.
Belgorod Region Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces carried out the attack using an unmanned aerial vehicle. Preliminary assessments indicate that several storage tanks ignited following the explosion on the depot’s grounds.
Gladkov noted that firefighting teams are currently operating at the site, working to contain and extinguish the blaze. Emergency services are overseeing the situation.
He added that officials are still verifying the full extent of the damage and assessing other potential consequences of the strike.
