Fires spark at industrial facilities in Russia following attacks PHOTO

Fires have been reported at two major industrial facilities in Russia following attacks, according to the Exilenova+Telegram channel.

In Voronezh, a fire was reported at Voronezhsintezkauchuk, a company that manufactures synthetic rubber and styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) polymers, which are used to produce thermoplastic elastomers.

Voronezhsintezkauchuk has been part of the Russian petrochemical group Sibur since 1998 and became fully owned by the company in 2012.

Separately, a fire was reportedly detected at the AVT-5 unit of LUKOIL-Permnefteorgsintez (PNOS) in Perm.

PNOS is one of Russia’s major oil-refining facilities and is operated by LUKOIL. The AVT-5 unit is part of the refinery’s crude-oil processing infrastructure.
